Ugu District Municipality is one of the ten (10) district municipalities in the province of KwaZulu Natal.
It is located in the South Coast. It is 5 866 km2 in extent and boasts a spectacular coastline of 112 kilometres, which forms its eastern border. The municipality consists of eighty one (81) municipal wards, which culminate into local municipalities, namely Ray Nkonyeni, Umzumbe, Umdoni and Umuziwabantu.
Services offered by the Ugu District Municipality include Water services, Corporate Services, Economic Development, they also administer the office of the Municipal Manager and they have a Treasury Department.
