Snow in Kokstad
It’s so cold… my goose bumps have goose bumps!!!! Kokstad was completely cut off from the outside world on wednesday (27 June), with all inbound roads being closed, as well as experiencing broken phone lines, etc. More than 300 bus passengers and 100 truck drivers were trapped by snow between Harding and Kokstad due to heavy snow fall. Heavy snowfall has been falling through most of the night (Tuesday 6 June), and wednesday morning.
One driver said he had slid off the road at 11pm tuesday night, and was not enjoying the wait for the road to clear. Others tried to press forward through the 20cm thick snow to try to melt it, and where making some progress at 4pm. One of the biggest complaints among truck drivers was the hunger pangs, as many had been stuck for over 16 hours with no food. A collection of busses were also stuck, carrying more than 300 passengers., who had to be 'rescued', by the Sisonke District Municipality disaster management team to nearby homes and resorts.
Carpet Care
Complete carpet care at affordable prices. Like anything else, leather needs to be well cared for, cleaned, and maintained regularly. People often forget that body oil (for example on your body and hands), builds up over time on leather, collecting dirt and grime. This changes the colour (which may become permanent if not removed in time). Leather is a natural material which does not react well to harsh cleaning solvents (handy andy, omo, sunlight liquid, etc).

Tech Article: PC Feeling slow, you need a reboot
If your PC suddenly feels very slow, and becomes unresponsive, you may just need to reboot it. A fresh start! is something we all need from time to time, and a PC is no different. The best way to do this is to:
- Shutdown the PC
- Leave it off for about 30 seconds
- Turn it back on, and enjoy the speed increase.
Of course, this does not always solve a slow PC problem (as there could be many other reasons for the slow down), but it is by far the easiest, and should be the first step you take, before calling a technician.
Hot Tip: Don't sit in front of a PC for longer than 45 min at a time. Go for short walks, pour a drink, etc regularly.

Movie Review: Oceans 13
Danny Ocean (George Clooney) and Rusty (Brad Pitt) are at it again in the third in the series of Oceans movies. The pace is steady, and keeps you guessing all the way. A few laughs along the way (not big ones, but a steady supply). A tad better than the Oceans 12, but just not quite as good at the original, Oceans 11.
If you enjoyed the first 2 movies, you are sure to enjoy this one. But, be warned, the story never ends up playing out the way you think its going to... :)
Rating. 6/10
PS: Go see Shrek the Third (out from today at Shelly Beach cinema)
Until next time
